Jazmina Rovi is currently a Partner of Morgan & Morgan and co-head of the Ship Finance and Registration Practice Group.

Mrs. Rovi has over 20 years of experience representing ship owners, charterers and leading financial institutions on all types of registration schemes under Panama flag and ship finance structures including ship mortgages and pledge of shares of Panama ship owning companies.

She is listed as a leading lawyer in the Shipping chapters of Chambers & Partners and Latin Lawyer 250.

Mrs. Rovi has been also involved in the pro bono activities of the firm playing an active role in the drafting and unification of various Panama maritime legislations and chaired the Maritime Law Association of Panama from 2011-2012 and 2012-2013.  Mrs. Rovi has been also crucial in the development of the project of the Panamanian Volunteering Law.

Mrs. Rovi is a member of the National Bar Association of Panama, Maritime Law Association of Panama and the Iberoamerican Institute of Maritime Law.

Mrs. Rovi authored the publications “International Commercial Arbitration in Panama, Comments to the New Arbitration, “Conciliation and Mediation Law”, “Jurisdiction of Panama Admiralty Courts”, “Submission and Forum Arrest, 1994”; “Arbitration Clauses as a Cause of Derogation of the Panama Admiralty Court’s Jurisdiction”, 1991; and “El Seguro en Panama”, 1989.

Mrs. Rovi obtained an LL.B. in 1989 from the School of Law of the Universidad de Panama and holds a PH.D., in Private International Law from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in Spain, in 1994.

Mrs. Rovi is admitted to practice law in the Republic of Panama.
